- אַזְדָּאf. (foreg.) (it is) decreed (cmp. גְּזֵרָה). Dan. 2:5.B. Mets. 116b if the landlord said, I let you this loft (as it is) א׳ it is a (divine) decree, i. e. it is the tenants misfortune that the loft fell in, and he has no claims. V. Ges. H. Dict. s. v.
